1. Lok Sabha Polls To Be Held In 7 Phases From 19 April. The counting will take place on 4th June.

2. Assembly elections will be held in four states -- Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha -- simultaneously with the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections, which will start from April 19, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced on Saturday.

3. By-elections to 26 assembly seats across 13 states, including six constituencies in Himachal Pradesh where Congress MLAs were disqualified for rebellion, will be held along with the Lok Sabha elections beginning April 19.

4. Why Election Commissioner announces Lok Sabha poll on 544 seats instead of 543 : Because the elections for two Lok Sabha seats in Manipur will be held in two phases on April 19 and 26. While Inner Manipur and some segments of Outer Manipur will vote in the first phase on April 19, the remaining segments of Outer Manipur will vote in Phase 2 on April 26.

5. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall and thunderstorms over East and Central India for the next four days.

6. PM Modi Addresses A Public Rally In Kalburgi In Karnataka. He assured of Modi Guarantees to make Karnataka an Agriculture and Industries hub.

7. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS New Delhi in collaboration with the Organ Retrieval Banking Organisation has performed the first dual kidney transplant at AIIMS. The donor was a 78-year-old lady who was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre with a severe head injury. She was declared brain dead and her family consented to organ donation.

8. The Know Your Candidate (KYC) app is a mobile application developed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to help citizens know about the criminal antecedents of candidates contesting elections. The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

9. Congress Working Committee meeting to be held in Delhi on March 19 to finalise the manifesto for Lok Sabha polls and discussion on strategy for the elections.

10. Former Telangana minister and senior BJP leader AP Jithender Reddy resigned from the BJP on Friday, and joined Congress. He has been appointed as the adviser to the Telangana government.
